Day 17 Nearby is that ‘mighty river of ice’, Fox Glacier, which flows to within several hundred metres of the sea. This remnant of the ice age is still moving. After a short walk to its front we drive on to Lake Wanaka and laid-back Wanaka township. A swim in the clear lake waters and relaxing on the pretty lakeshore is certain to revitalize you.
